I could not find this information on the web anywhere, so I’m posting it here in case it is useful to someone. (Disclaimer: This worked for me and many others — some slight variants are posted in comments, which you might try if it doesn’t work for you. No promises, of course.)My 13-month old Bosch Vision 300 Series Washer displayed error code E:27 (E27). Of course, I was just out of warranty. This error code is not in the user manual, but some research on line indicates that it is a door latch fault. The problem is that the washer will not operate and the door is latched closed. You can manually release the latch by removing the lower panel (Torx fasteners, I think) and finding a wire lanyard that releases the latch. However, I had read that there was a diagnostic code that could be used to reset the latch solenoid via the control panel. There is no service manual available on line, as far as I can tell. Here is what worked1. Set the knob to off.2.
Hold down both the Spin Selector button and the Allergy Rinse button simultaneously.3. While holding these two buttons down, rotate the knob one click to the left, to the “cold” position.4.
At that point, the display will show a diagnostic code and the unit will enter a self-test mode. In my case, the solenoid latch started clicking repeatedly. I pressed the Spin Selector button once or twice, which resulted in the display of new codes and then the release of the latch.5.

I set the knob back to off, and the washer now appears to be operating.6. You’re done.Tags:,. Thank you for posting this – you are a wise AND kind person as this dilemma is very frustrating. This process did not work for me but I get the code every 4-6 months or so.
I read somewhere to leave unplugged for 30 or more minutes. I do that several times, and after each then turn the dial to one of the bottom commands and wait. Eventually it works, sometimes many minutes later. I will hear the clicking and go check and it is clear.
I did try your solution a few times and while it didn’t work, perhaps it helped in combination with the other things. Otherwise I love my Bosch but likely next time I’ll go with another brand.
I replaced the door latch but the E:27 code still appeared. I tried the suggested reset procedure but it did not go into Test Mode. So I made a service appointment for the next day. My wife suggested I remove the top of the washer, I have a Vision 500 series, to check/reset the connection on the control board to the door latch. I found a yellow sheet of paper, form # Rev. A 09/09, that stated to press and hold the two buttons closest to the dial, which in this case are the “Delay Start & Spin Selection” buttons. This reset the error code and everything is working Ok!
I canceled the service call and plan on taking the wife out for a nice dinner!! Just about got screwed into the ground (or wife almost did!) by an unscrupulous knucklehead posing as an appliance repairman. Said the problem was a dead pump and cost of parts and labor were going to come to OVER $600!!!Like HELL!!
When I got home, I opened up the manual that came with it (useless!!) and then took a look at this hunk of over-technological junk.Got to wondering if the locked door might be actuated / controlled by some sort of water level sensor. Shazam It is!!!! By tilting the machine backwards, the sensor was tricked into thinking the drum was empty and sumbitchthe door unlocked!!! Btw, for this to work, you will also have to unplug the beast for a minute or two, plug back in and THEN tilt back!Subsequently found this website.was very helpful in simply “cutting to the chase” so I can be the Maytag (ok Bosch!) repairman!!Hope to be very lonely this time tomorrow!!Thanks!!
RESETTING THE DOOR LOCK:The above instructions are a great place to start butIf you release the door lock manually, sometimes the door lock will not reset. Also, if you haven’t cleaned out the filter first, none of these steps will reset the machine. It will still be clogged and the machine will not run (or fill with water).
So: Step 1- clean the clogged filter. Step 2, check to see if it will continue to work. IF the door lock will not reset then Step 3:remove the door seal and unscrew the two screws that hold the lock in place.
See (Disconnect from power first!). Remove the connectors and pull the lock out. Unhook the clips and open the lock mechanism. You will see the latch that holds the door.
There will be a plunger mechanism that you can push, and while doing so, rotate the latch mechanism back to the “open” position. Carefully replace the cover to the lock mechanism (watch for the springs), and then replace everything: see. We have a Vision 500 series washer. After my mom put a large comforter in, it started giving the E:27 error, although the door wasn’t locked shut.I tried many of the suggestions in this thread, but none of them seemed to result in entering test mode or printing out diagnostic codes.
However, the common thread seemed to be pressing & holding two-button combos, & there weren’t that many buttons, so I tried that.Ultimately, after fiddling with a lot of the settings (& being worried I would break it even further), the following apparently worked. First, the spin selection LED was set to ‘No Final Spin’. The washing mode dial was set to ‘Xxtra Sanitary’ (who names it that?). Then I pressed & held the ‘Stain Removal’ & the ‘Start/Pause’ buttons.
After a moment, the E:27 error went away, & was replaced by a time estimate for the wash, like I would normally expect when about to begin a wash. No diagnostics codes or anything like that appeared.
It appears to be running normally now. Projects. Recent Posts.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:. Archives.
